Hand Weaving and Furniture Manufacture
Hand Weaving at the Haus im Schluh
As in Martha's time, trained hand weavers work at over 200-year-old traditional looms at the Haus im Schluh. With a bit of luck, you can watch the weavers at work during your museum visit. The woven products, such as table runners, warming scarves, shawls, and loops, are available for purchase in our museum shop.

Furniture by Heinrich Vogeler
In addition to his artistic work, Heinrich Vogeler also designed Art Nouveau furniture. His grandson, Hans Georg Müller, revived production in the 1970s. Since then, the furniture workshop in Worpswede has been crafting chairs, tables, benches, cabinets, chests, and more based on the original designs. Some of the original furniture pieces, such as the famous Rose Cabinet, as well as pieces with hand-carved motifs like tulips, medallions, owls, and horses, can now be seen at the Haus im Schluh museum.
